Terms of Use — Playbit

Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using Playbit ("the app"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Use of the App

You may use the app for personal, non-commercial journaling and tracking of video games.

You agree not to:

  • Use the app for unlawful purposes.

  • Attempt to reverse engineer, copy, or redistribute the app except as allowed by applicable law.

  • Interfere with the app's operation or security.

User Content

You are responsible for all content you create in the app, including game entries, notes, photos, and to-do items.

You confirm that:

  • You own your content or have permission to use it.

  • Your content does not violate any law or third-party rights.

Privacy

How data is handled is described in PRIVACY_POLICY.md, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Cloud and Third-Party Services

If you enable iCloud sync, data sync is provided through Apple CloudKit and is subject to Apple's terms and policies.

When you use the in-app cover search feature, cover images are supplied by SteamGridDB (steamgriddb.com), a third-party service. SteamGridDB is not owned or operated by Playbit, and its content is subject to SteamGridDB's own terms and policies.

Playbit does not review, control, or endorse cover images returned by SteamGridDB. We cannot guarantee that any cover image is appropriate for users under 18 years of age. Some search results may include artwork that is sensual, suggestive, or otherwise mature in nature. You are responsible for choosing cover art you consider suitable. If you are under 18, use this feature only with a parent or guardian's permission and supervision.

Any future third-party integrations may have their own terms.

Intellectual Property

The app, including its design, branding, and code, is owned by the developer and protected by intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, revocable, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the app for personal use.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, the developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or business arising from your use of the app.

Termination

These Terms remain in effect while you use the app. The developer may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms.

You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it.

Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the app after updates means you accept the revised Terms.

Significant updates should also be noted in CHANGELOG.md.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable laws in the developer's jurisdiction, without regard to conflict of law principles.
